Post Vacation Blues

We got back from vacation. 7 days at Corolla Beach, NC and 2 extra days on the road. We planned and executed this vacation in 3 weeks. Somehow we talked my parents into dropping everything and going with us. The kids were in grandparent heaven. Being on vacation has its upside....normal sleep routine is out the window because who wants to go to bed or sleep in past 6 am when there are so many waves to catch, every meal has a few less vegetables than mommy would normally make them eat & way more Popsicles were consumed than normal. BUT we are back home now and the rules need to be enforced. Rule #1 we will be on a mac and cheese free diet Rule #2 we will be on a french fry free diet Rule #3 we will go to bed at a normal hour and wake up 12 hours later....PLEASE!!!!! Yesterday was complete post vacation meltdown....daddy went back to work and the grandparents went home....mommy was on her own with some very scary children who were...

missed opportunity

Recently I had a missed opportunity. I kicked myself afterward. I should of jumped in but  I didn't. SIGH. It would have been so easy to speak truth but instead I made excuses in my head. They weren't asking too many questions just their opinions. Opinions not based on truths. They asked me 2 questions and I was able to answer confindently my beliefs...but no scripture to back it up. It really made me sad how 2 grown women  could have no clue about the Bible or God's plan for them. They said things like "I am a good person...that should be good enough for God. or  I worship at the church of the Mattress of the Holy Springs." I am going to pray that God stirs up more questions for them and that someone will be there to speak truth to them. And that I don't miss another opportunity. John 5:24 "...whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life..." See what Hill and other's have to say about their {im}perfect liv...

A simple picture

I thought it would be nice to take a picture of my cheerio gang. A simple picture. 4 kids doesn't make for simple anything. Life doesn't always go  the way you planned. Sometimes I want what I want. Sometimes I pout. Sometimes I cover my eyes and pretend that there is no drama around me. Sometimes I cry. So should I be surprised that my kids do that too? We will try again at another time. Bribery will probably be involved. I just couldn't delete these pictures. They capture a moment. The kids will be big and grown up too soon. And then I might be the one pouting and covering my eyes. Linking up today to Capturing Motherhood.
