praying for

I've been wanting to write this post for sometime but just didn't have the right words, but I'll try anyways. My life is so cluttered right now. I hate to admit it but sometimes I forget  to pray or wait on God. Right now I am doing just that. Relearning to trust, pray and wait on God. I have something on my heart. I began feeling a nudge that God was leading. I prayed, haphazardly. In my feebleness I felt God said yes. When I ran it by the hubs he shot this down. But the urge was still there I couldn't let it go. There is a tension between being an obedient wife and an obedient daughter of the KING. So now I knew it was time to pull out the Hezekiah prayer (2 kings 14-19). This isn't some magic prayer or a vending machine prayer. I think it forces me to slow down and and adjust my focus. I know 2 Kings? Mostly 1 & 2 Kings says , "...and they did evil in the eyes of the Lord. " But there's this one prayer. Hezakiah took the letter that said ...

Her story...

All my other 3 babies were born early~5, 10 and 12 days so I anticipated having #4 about 2 weeks early. Well I was still pregnant at 38 weeks, 39 and even 40 weeks. I went to the doctor on my due date. Hoping that he would say that he would go ahead and induce me. I had progressively moved along  each week I saw him, but week 40 I had made no progress. In fact he gave me the news that if he induced me it would most likely result in an unnecessary C-section. It was Tuesday and he said he would like to see me again on Thursday for an ultrasound and a quick check. I made it out of the doctor's office with out any major hysterics but as soon as I got to the car and called the hubs it was a super duper meltdown. I was disappointed, frustrated, scared, tired and as many Eeyore adjectives you can stick on there....I was feeling it. I knew I had to trust in the Lord's sovereignty and I trusted the wisdom of my doctor. My doctor is strong in his faith. So I knew he was doing what...

Wait

On every corner in our small city there seems to be a drive through bank or coffee place. Even a "quick serve" Mediterranean restaurant verses the drive through burger place  near us. We don't slow down for much these days. We want to know. We want 21 channels of news and weather on our TV. We want to be in control of all our surroundings.Never have I been more frustrated with our impatient-instant gratification-drive thru society than through this pregnancy. I am 39 weeks and 1 day. I don't know the sex of our baby. I know can you believe it. Its so unheard of these days.  I have heard more in the last weeks questioning why my doctor doesn't check one more time to tell us what the baby is...or why isn't the Dr going to induce you?  Even my children ask my belly "what are you baby? when are you coming to meet us baby?" Innocent impatient questions on their part. Recognition of our impatient pull our selves up from our bootstraps society for ...
