Living Life One Cheerio at a Time

I would consider myself a pretty laid back mama. or lazy? Tying 3 pairs of shoes a bunch a times a day isn't appealing. So I let my kids run in the yard with no shoes. I just think part of childhood is experiencing summer in bare feet. Since we live in the Midwest we only have a few good months for barefoot living. so they are living it up... Why I have an amazing pile of shoes by my family room couch? Who's wearing them? Rain boots...it hasn't rained in awhile. Apparently, I have some shoe wearing fairies. Who do not know that shoes go in the shoe closet only  a few feet away from their current pile.     Where's the cleaning fairy when I need her? Linking up with Capturing Motherhood

Last weekend, I scheduled with a photographer  to take some pictures of our kids and of our family. Little man was 11 months old the last time we had pics taken and he just turned 3 this summer. Oops! Sarah wasn't just any random photographer. She is a friend. In fact she and I were just around the corner from each other our freshman year in college. {Gulp} 17 years ago..... She recently quit her full time teaching elementary kids art to start her photography business. With her free spirit art background I knew she would be the perfect on for us. I wanted to get away from the matchy matchy studio sit still and smile here picture. She didn't mind that I was going to use color and mixed patterns. This is just a preview of what's to come but I think she did a wonderful job!

She liked dance in the beginning, but then something changed. Towards the end it was like pulling teeth. So right before we dance started this year, we gave her a few more choices. You can choose one...soccer or swimming. We want her to enjoy being active. We want her physical activity to be something she's good at too. If she didn't enjoy dance than we were going to not take her. Her older sister can not wrap her mind around why she wouldn't choose dance. She chose soccer. Its one we took child #1 to a few years ago. But soccer wan't #1's cup of tea at all. Its fairly non-committal at this stage. We just send her in shorts/t-shirt and tennis shoes. NO pads or soccer gear, yet. Just spend 40 minutes running and learning about the game in an indoor facility for 8-10 weeks. And guess what she loved it. After class she didn't want to go home. She couldn't believe it was over. She wanted to keep going. She was dripping is sweat but smiling the biggest s...
