I have created cookie monsters...

Sooo.... I've not been happy with my chocolate chip recipe.   So I've been scouring Pinterest and experimenting.  Let's be honest the hubs and the kids haven't minded too much!  But I've finally come to a perfected cookie. The hubs likes a more cake like cookie. I on the other hand like a crispy one that holds up in a hot cup of coffee or a cold glass of milk.  I will share this joy with you. I basically use the toll house chocolate chip recipe with a few changes. 2 1/4 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) 1/2 cup crisco 3/4 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 large eggs 2 cups chocolate chips (or 1 cup chocolate chips/1 cup m & m's) Preheat oven to 375*. Add dry ingredients into a bowl. Beat sugars and butter/Crisco until creamy. Add eggs one at a time.  Gradually add dry ingredients .Stir in morsels. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 9-11 minut...

February 10 on 10

Today I am thankful for my friend Malia at How to care for your hairless rat for reminding me about today's 10 on 10. highly caffeinated is how I start my morning! working on a map of Disney...this guy has map making on his brain! someone has a sense of humor...makes a dirty diaper more tolerable! I fell on the ice in the preschool parking lot. I was holding #4. I was able to catch both of us with my left hand and knee.  All is well just a little sore! After we fell decided to stay home and hang out instead of running our errands. A much better time playing angry birds with this cutie! Well she is quite the tech savvy almost 2 yr old. She takes decent selfies and answers the phone with a hearty "hello!" a lunch time meltdown a snowy walk to get #2 from the bus stop its calling my name but I am not answering bright eyed and bushy tailed after a good nap....truthfully she's one of the only ones who let...

She's crafting again....

I love to be creative but I have some limitations. I CAN'T SEW! Its not that my mom didn't try and teach me  but alas that is a skill I am without. I can sew a mean button or a hole on a bear shut but that's where it ends people. In fact I have a whole board on Pintrest that says "If I knew how to sew." I found these little/no sew tulle tutus that I thought would BE PERFECT for our Disney trip. I thought it might be fun for the girls to dress up a little when we go to our character dinners. I went googled many options. So the baby and set out to JoAnn's and found the supplies. So for less than $10 per tutu they've got a special skirt to wear long after the Disney trip. I did one with the ribbon and the others with the elastic. I actually liked the elastic better. I had to sew (by hand) the piece together but the whole skirt didn't take me more than 30 minutes to do. To begin I cut the tulle into 24 inch strips. I bought about 50 yds per skirt....
