breakfast and butterflies

So daddy thought pooh bear needed some daddy time after child #1's date on Friday. He took her on Sunday morning to have breakfast. Then after they ate he decided to pick up her sister to take them to the Conservatory for the Butterflies & Blooms. As you can tell by the pictures they had a great time! Of course the stripey pants and a stripey sweater make an appearance together for an ensemble like no other!

daddy daughter dance

The dance studio we attend had a fundraiser at our church. A daddy-daughter dance. It was Friday night. She was able to go on a double date with her best friend and her dad. She got all dressed up in a super spinny fancy dress. She asked me to get he hair all fancied up...she was so excited! It was only 2 hours but it when she came home she was all smiles. She said her favorite part was her daddy spinning her. And he even got all dressed up and got a "morsage" for her. I am pretty sure she will remember this for a life time!

The bedroom switcheroo

With the new baby coming we had to make a few changes in the sleeping arrangements. First of all there was lots of cleaning....lots of cleaning! Here's a small glimpse into what we've done! This is the trash I found in child #1's room...I mean her paper treasures! 4 pairs of sunglasses Do you see the amount of stuffed animals/dolls...where does the girl sleep? The closet of no return! Yikes! Everything disappeared and she was a little sad.... They were still asleep when I took this! we still need to get matching bedding but for now it works They've been doing great sharing a room. Better than we actually thought. I thought we'd have a few more hurdles like: pooh bear is a night owl, child  #1 is a morning person {a really EARLY morning person}, pooh bear wasn't napping and was all about playing in her sister's room BUT since they've been sharing the excitment of cool things is gone. I mean they have very little toys an...

celebrating spring

Can you believe how warm it was on the first couple of days of spring? This is how the little ones and I celebrated...

A note

Ahh...the simple note!  Most notes you recieve are ones that encourage or uplift you. Rarely do you get a handwritten note in the mail (does that date me??) that isn't one that doesn't speak to you. Child #1 really loves to give and get notes. Especially love notes! She's given a few to us recently... This one is a picture of our whole family (baby too)! "I love you!" I actually have no idea what she is grateful to her dad about (I think it has something to do with their breakfast dates) BUT it made her feel awesome because she had fun! HOW CUTE! At the begining of the year I would leave little post it notes in her lunch. Nothing big...sometimes just a heart or smiley face or "have a pizza-tastic day" BUT life has gotten busy and I kept forgetting. Then one day I remembered and snuck it in her lunchbox. 2 days in a row. And do you know what I found in her coat pocket...those 2 notes. She was saving them. She treasured them. And everyday for...

Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window...its 7:00 ish and the sunshine is just starting to peak out. By the way the time change is not my favorite thing...it has messed with my kids sleeping. AHHHH! I am thinking....about 2 other posts I'd like to write if I could find time to download the pictures I am thankful....for our dear friends who took the children all day on Sunday so we could get some pre-baby stuff done. And I feel more ready than I did a week ago! From my kitchen...bagels and yogurt for breakfast! I am wearing...jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt I am wondering...when will this baby get here? I am 34 weeks today so not much longer! I am hearing...the oldest find 102 things to do and see other than her morning list. She is the queen of dilly-dally! From around the house...all my kids in big kid beds. Little man was in his big boy bed for the first time last night and he did such a good job! A favorite thing....when all my children eat the same meal...WELL! Last night I made Blu...

EX.HAUST.ED

I don't even think that these are the words to describe the feeling. *Pregnancy brain is wearing me out. I had a moment of panic on the highway this morning because I couldn't remember how to get to the zoo. We've been there 1,000 times in the last 3 years. * The big room changeroo. The girls are sharing a room  now (pics to come later) and little man needs to  get a mattress/sheets/comforter/room painted....and oh he needs to get out of the crib because baby #4 is less than 7 weeks away from arrival. * Baby clothes and paraphernalia needs to be brought up from the basement. *I need to stop being nauseated ALL.THE. TIME! *The heartburn makes me feel like a fire breathing dragon at 2 am. * I pee every hour AT LEAST during the night and then I can't always get back to sleep. *I am trying to feed my husband/children a hot meal but sometimes okay more often than I would like to admit they eat cereal or order pizza. * Sometimes I wake up and want to take a na...

Heartbreak

In the fall when I announced that I was pregnant with our 4th child, I had know idea about the heartbreak that was occurring on my cal de sac. While I was celebrating the gift God was bestowing on our family, two of my neighbors were dealing with the realization of miscarrying.  Out of 10 houses on my street 4 were pregnant. All due within 1 month of each other. Only 2 of us will be holding our sweet babies is a few weeks. Heartbreak. Here I am at 32 weeks pregnant and a constant reminder to those who were due before me. I understand their heartbreak. I miscarried my first baby in 2004. I understand the painful reminder of my growing belly every time they see me. There's not much I can do. I can just pray for peace for their hearts. Just pray for God's plan in their life. Just pray for my sensitivity to their situation. I am linking up here .
