A note

Ahh...the simple note!  Most notes you recieve are ones that encourage or uplift you. Rarely do you get a handwritten note in the mail (does that date me??) that isn't one that doesn't speak to you.

Child #1 really loves to give and get notes. Especially love notes! She's given a few to us recently...
This one is a picture of our whole family (baby too)! "I love you!"

I actually have no idea what she is grateful to her dad about (I think it has something to do with their breakfast dates) BUT it made her feel awesome because she had fun!

HOW CUTE!

At the begining of the year I would leave little post it notes in her lunch. Nothing big...sometimes just a heart or smiley face or "have a pizza-tastic day" BUT life has gotten busy and I kept forgetting. Then one day I remembered and snuck it in her lunchbox. 2 days in a row. And do you know what I found in her coat pocket...those 2 notes. She was saving them. She treasured them. And everyday for the past 3 weeks she has handed me a post it note and a pen to write her a quick note. She can't wait to see what words of love and encouragement I will give her.

That got me thinking about the love letter someone else has written me...that I often let life get in the way of. God wrote me a love letter and it is preserved for me to open everyday if I don't forget. He's got words of love and encouragement. He didn't forget to write it or send it. How many do I have sitting collecting dust around my house? Too many and too embarrased to say.

Child #1 radomly asked her dad and I the other day for her own Bible to start taking to church. She has several children's story Bibles but not a real Bible for herself. When her dad dropped her off/picked her up he didn't see any kids with Bibles. She isn't wanting to be like everyone else, she's wanting to be the person God is encouraging her to be.....

I am so encouraged to see the Holy Spirit working in her life and seeing her respond!

Hebrews 3:13 "Encourage one another daily..."

I am heading over here to see other's perfect lives!

My little {BIG} fear

So here's my little confession: I have big fears and little fears. But lately one particularly has been plaguing me { AGAIN }. It is the fear of being forgotten, more so being { FORGETTABLE } and indivisible. I don't know what starts it or triggers it, but it can be as simple as an email offering to volunteer for something than not hearing a reply. I guess the last trigger was a group wide calendar was sent out with {every one's} birthday on it except mine. I know that is wasn't done on purpose but my birthday is a sensitive subject to me. Its always been forgotten. Its right around Labor day and the first week of school. So in the busyness its often overlooked. Or in the case of 6th grade its not even written on the calendar. Mrs. Brotherton I think I know when my birthday is...but she still made me go to the Principal's office for arguing with her and I came back successfully with a note that I was indeed correct about knowing my birthday. I digress... I was telli...

serving with a grateful heart

1 Peter 4:10 "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." This year my little gang of cheerios and I have been working on being intentional about serving. To be honest for a long time the excuses of having to many littles was beginning to wear thin. Now I have been looking for opportunities that my littles could easily accomplish. Yesterday, we attended a Lenten service at our church. It was a beautiful Prayer walk. We walked through stations, preparing our hearts for this season of Lent. It was a perfect activity for our family to do together. In the Lenten study package was The Names of God Bible reading challenge . I am really thrilled to focus in on the Names of God for this season. Preparing my heart for the Easter season. So today, the sanctuary needed cleaned. All the stations needed put back in the closets and offices that they were borrowed from. Little ...
