Making bread

So my children adore the Amish white bread I make. They also adore the very $$$ raisin bread from the grocery store. So I went a hunting for a recipe. In my go to Pillsbury All purpose cook book I found a recipe that used a white bread and added raisins and cinnamon. JACKPOT. So go {here} for link to the yumminess. In my cook book it said add 1 cup of raisins and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon right before the kneading step. So I tried 1 loaf of regular and 1 loaf of cinnamon raisin goodness. D.E.L.I.S.H! I even rolled it out added cinnamon in the middle and woo-hoo it was swirled. Kids are loving it. We have had it for breakfast, snack and as a PBJ for lunch. Looks like 2 loaves next time!

Making bread

Over the past few months {sorry if I'd posted this before, I can't remember} I have been making my own bread. Mostly because of taste and some because of the allergies my kids have. So my friend, Kristin, gave me this recipe that was really working for her. YUMMO. My little boy wouldn't eat sandwiches but with this bread he's more inclined to eat a little. Especially the sunflower butter and jelly ones. Its easy and freezes well too! http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Amish-White-Bread/Detail.aspx
