Living Life One Cheerio at a Time

Today is the 10th and the challenge is finding beauty in the ordinary for 10 hours. Well I always like to make up a few of my own rules and so I added a few more pictures. Child #1 likes to take her time in the morning. She is a bit poky. I've tried to not NAG her the whole time giving her time to figure out her own time management. BUT I've always said if she missed the bus because she was dawdling she would have to clean toilets. I thought that was a pretty impactful punishment for a 6 year old. Well yesterday I had to follow through with my threat. YEP, she missed the bus. When it was time to leave for the bus she got in the van (yes I drive 4 houses down when I have somewhere to go like Bible study but most days we walk). We were 2 minutes early. When I saw the bus around the corner and told her to hop  out, she flipped out "WHERE'S MY BACKPACK???"  She left it by the door at home. There was no way I was running back home to get it all preggers. I told her she could go to school without it and just buy her lunch. "NOOOOO!" So she missed the bus. I was going to be late to my activity. She needed to go to school. Sh...

The bus stop is only 4 houses away. Our school district prefers for all Kindergarten and 1st grade parents to be at the stop for drop off and pick up. And as a mother hen that's how I like it too.  Its also the black hole of misbehavior. WHY?? I have to take the little kids down twice a day and some days it takes everything I have not to cry. I have just a few rules: no running up the neighbors drive way and making their dogs bark and no running in others yards. SIMPLE RIGHT? WRONG! It seems no matter how much I remind them that's just what they want to do. If I take them down in the stroller they seem to do scream "I want out!" or kick and hit each other. The bus stop seems to bring out the worst in my kids. I want to yell to my neighbors their not that bad usually. They listen MOST of the time. People their 2 &3 years old...they are just trying out their boundaries EVERY day. By the time the 5-10 minute trip (depending how late the bus is) is over, I am wo...
