what I really wanted to post

What I really wanted to write about was TACO NIGHT! One of the few meals all my kids like. They get to make there own its fun. Or the blueberry 5 o'clock shadow that the baby is sporting.  But what I have to write about is the clutter behind the kids in each of the pictures. I would love to lie to you and say that the clutter on the counter and the island is just a fluke. or that its because we are currently under de-construction. But its there ALL the time. Its there in varying degrees. Some days you can see what my counter tops look like other days you think its just layers of junk! Can you believe that crock pot has been there an entire week unused. Just sitting there. Maybe its a metaphor for my life. All the things I let get in the way of who I really am. Maybe its just I am a messy person...maybe I will just blame it on the kids. Whatever the reason its there. It needs cleaned up. Its something I don't want people to know. Its me being ...

picture me {im}perfectly: Just what I needed to hear

James 1:19 "My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." Ever have those moments when you know what you just read or head was JUST for you. Where it was like an arrow to your ears and your heart. And nothing else said or done that day mattered because all you could focus on was what made your heart pound. I had that moment on Saturday night. Our church has been studying the book of James. Pastor Andy was speaking and he read James 1:19. It was like the world stopped. It was just for me. He was speaking just to me. And frankly I don't know what else he said because this portion of scripture just kept swirling in my head.  As you can imagine having 4 kids and a BUSY husband it can get a bit crazy around here. But  that is no excuse for the tone of voice I use when speaking to the hubs or the cheerio gang. I am notorious for saying to the cheerio gang (when the noise level is on...

spring break

yes, i really did say spring break...with snow on the ground. So we went to the library to check out a few books...13 to be exact. celebrating the kids while they are little!

cheerio gang: child #1

Child #1 has been quite a challenge lately. Putting it mildly. I am not sure what's going on with my usually fairly compliant child. BUT she's been everything but compliant lately.  I have tried spending some one on one time with her. And that has helped some. We both like to play games so when we get a spare moment we try and play a round or two of something. She may not like to admit it but she is competitive. Mamaw Early would have loved to play Skip Bo with her. She also likes to play Monopoly. I've noticed since she was real young that she always like to open up shops. I think she's got quite a sense for business. She really likes buying up the properties and building houses.  In fact at one point I literally had $26 dollars to my name and she had MUCH MORE and about 6 properties and 3 Railroads. She pretty savvy. I am not sure when she found time, but I think she's gone to the Donald Trump School of Business. I asked her if she was going t...

cheerio gang: 2 pink thumbs up

We went to see Pinkalicious the Musical over the weekend. The hubs and I had bought tickets as part of the big girls Christmas presents. They have been waiting for quite some time now. The girls thought it was pink-tastic! It was 1 hour of singing about pink. It was a great big girls night out. We had wonderful seats on the floor. Well who can complain in the local theater that's 2 minutes from my home and easy peasy parking.  I then decided to take the girls out for dinner and dessert. They voted on some Noodles & Co for dinner and Spoon Me for dessert. All within 5 minutes from my house.  Join up this week and be apart of the cheerio gang!

pure joy

"It's not that my standards are too high, it's just that my daddy set an amazing example for how you should treat me."   This is a quote I recently read on Pintrest. I thought how perfect to showcase the Father Daughter Dance. Someday I pray that when our girls are looking for husbands that they use their dad as a measuring stick. Having the opportunity to go out to a dance is setting the stage. Our dance studio sponsored the dance at our church once again. Both older girls got to be daddy's date this year. Fancy hair and fancy dresses and perfect time with our daddy. The joy on their faces was priceless. The joy in my heart is with out words. love priceless dancing with our friend, "Bert" daddy dancing with one in his arms and one on his side....amazing! Join us this week celebrating the Cheerio gang!

CHEERIO GANG: little man

Here this week's cheerio gang highlight. My little man. Nothing cuter than this blue eyed, blond little guy! He drives me nuts. He is going through a testing his boundaries stage...well its lasted about 3 years. He's the driving force in the Cheerio Gang posts. If I don't intentionally seek out the good and funny and sweet and silly things I'll only remember the day to day grind. I will not be Eeyore! So here's a few pictures from this week of my Little Man! And for the future if you ever look at this  and read some of mommy's crazy ramblings, I LOVE YOU! just being a boy! with 3 sisters that's a good thing to be off by yourself with some cars He was supposed to be in time out....he thought time out needed a little cushion. Can he be anymore proud of himself? Now you can steal the button and become part of the cheerio gang, too!
