Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window...sunshine and WIND. In fact it knocked over my chairs on the deck. The heavy metal ones. I am thinking...laundry is still calling my name and I don't want to answer I am thankful...this morning went better than yesterday afternoon. Yesterday from 4-7 pm was dealing with the trio of grump-o-saurs'. From the kitchen...ham and baked  sweet potato bar (choose your own toppings: butter, marshmallows, brown sugar...just trying to get the kids to like them). And maybe if I get motivated this afternoon some banana bread. I am wearing...a black and white striped shirt and jeans but seriously considering sweatpants and a t-shirt! I am surprised...that my husband ate left overs last night. He never eats them but since he's not had a hot meal all week because of his work schedule guess he gave in. I am wondering...if ANYONE will take a much needed nap! AND why was child #1 up at 2:30 AM? SLEEP WALKING?? I am hearing...quiet and happy little ones playing...

Wednesdays suck!

I usually don't use that kind of language. BUT Wednesdays are going to kill me. They are mean and they suck! I have a BAD attitude about Wednesdays. You see Wednesdays are dance day. And for all reasons the universe is against me that's the day the hubs ALWAYS gets home late. Forcing me to take 3 children  to dance class. Child #1's class is early enough but Pooh Bear's class overlaps. So we are gone for about 2 1/2 hours. Running into a later bed time. So the dilemma do I make them eat early enough to not be starving during class and then a quick snack on the way home or let them wait. But they are not always hungry and then what happens to the late running hubs meal? what do I cook?questions??? CEREAL! its often the answer...low clean up and prep. So pooh bear at 3 1/2 has decided to stop the whole NAP thing, especially on Wednesdays. MAKING HER THE  OL' GRUMPY TROLL. And then the fighting begins with her sister. OH THE FIGHTING! OH THE DRAMA! You see chil...

happy valentine's day!

So on Monday, I decided that it might be fun to make a yummy valentine's treat with the kids.  I thought how fun would those cake pops thingys be...hmmm...I have yellow cake, pink frosting, and lots of sprinkles.  The only thing I didn't have is the sucker sticks but we would do without. I read the directions...and no where in them did it mention: THIS IS GOING TO BE THE MESSIEST SNACK/CRAFT YOU'VE EVER DONE~BE PREPARED!" So pooh bear and I began by baking a cake early in the morning to allow plenty of cooling time. We then broke up the cake into itty bitty just clean my floor pieces and added a can of prepared strawberry frosting.  She and I rolled into balls and put them into the fridge for proper cooling. AND CLEANED UP THE MESSIEST CAKE/FROSTING CONCOCTION! Then I melted some chocolate chips {I thought strawberries and chocolate was a good combination} and set out some sprinkles. and then came the real messy part. I dipped and let the kids  sprinkl...

Jeus take the wheel

Well today, Jesus went on a double date with Barbie, Belle and Ken. They drove seperately in their pink vehicles. As you can see the Jesus doll is now being used by pooh bear. Atleast he's in much better hands than when child #1 did this to him!

February sunshine?

Its been UNBELIEVABLY beautiful weather. We've been able to get outside all week long and enjoy some of the sunshine and warmish weather. Now today was cool but still as you can see in the pics my kids don't have any hats/mittens/scarfs/OHIO issued snow suits on their bodies.
