boundries~or the meanest mommy on earth!

Boundries~ we all need them but we don't always like them. Boundries go hand in hand with obedience. That just stinks sometimes. Just because sometimes obedience isn't any fun. I have a 6 year old, 3 year old and a 2 yr old so we are ALL ABOUT the boundries and obedience.

Like~

No, you may not jump on...the bed...the couch...your sister

You must wear a coat when it is snowing outside.....

You need to stay where mommy is in the yard and not run out of sight...

You need to pick up those toys before they get stepped on....

You may not wear those pants AGAIN...they are dirty....for the 4th day...

You see pooh bear loves THOSE stripey pants. Why does she like them? They are colorful, loud,"goes" with everything...they are HER. That's her personality on fabric.  She would LOVE to wear them everyday...if I let her.

But you see I have to be the mean mommy and say no. I have to set the boundries. I have to tell her no you can't talk to  me in that tone.....BUT I LOVE YOU!

I love you so that's why I set these boundries. I don't always like them. I think somedays it would be easier to let her wear the the stripey pants AGAIN, but that's not doing my job as a mommy. Now somedays I am super nice and I wash the pants so she can wear them several days in a row...and somedays I am the meanest mommy and I hide the pants in the bottom of my laundry basket so that she can't wear them but will ask me 125 times in 1 hour about the stripey pants.

God gives me boundries too. I don't always like it. I don't always want to be obedient to HIS word. But sometimes HE tells me no or wait. But HE still loves me. He still sent his son to die on the cross for me even though HE knew I was going to be disobedient and not like the boundries he set for me.

"Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!" Isaiah 30:18

My little {BIG} fear

So here's my little confession: I have big fears and little fears. But lately one particularly has been plaguing me { AGAIN }. It is the fear of being forgotten, more so being { FORGETTABLE } and indivisible. I don't know what starts it or triggers it, but it can be as simple as an email offering to volunteer for something than not hearing a reply. I guess the last trigger was a group wide calendar was sent out with {every one's} birthday on it except mine. I know that is wasn't done on purpose but my birthday is a sensitive subject to me. Its always been forgotten. Its right around Labor day and the first week of school. So in the busyness its often overlooked. Or in the case of 6th grade its not even written on the calendar. Mrs. Brotherton I think I know when my birthday is...but she still made me go to the Principal's office for arguing with her and I came back successfully with a note that I was indeed correct about knowing my birthday. I digress... I was telli...

serving with a grateful heart

1 Peter 4:10 "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." This year my little gang of cheerios and I have been working on being intentional about serving. To be honest for a long time the excuses of having to many littles was beginning to wear thin. Now I have been looking for opportunities that my littles could easily accomplish. Yesterday, we attended a Lenten service at our church. It was a beautiful Prayer walk. We walked through stations, preparing our hearts for this season of Lent. It was a perfect activity for our family to do together. In the Lenten study package was The Names of God Bible reading challenge . I am really thrilled to focus in on the Names of God for this season. Preparing my heart for the Easter season. So today, the sanctuary needed cleaned. All the stations needed put back in the closets and offices that they were borrowed from. Little ...
