A missionary in the making?

I have been listening to a Messianic Rabbi on 91.5 fm recently. I have heard Rabbi Howard speak in person several times and really enjoy what he has to say. As I was listening today child #1 asked me what was a rabbi and what made him Jewish? As I began to talk to her about it she asked what she was? She said mom I believe in God and Jesus and that the Bible is true so what am I? I said she was a Christian. She than began to ask her brother (age 1) and sissy (age 2) if they believed in Jesus and God and that the Bible is true. I told her some people don't know about Jesus and some don't believe. She said oh that's why sissy is collecting money for Bibles (a CBS craft) I think I should help her so lots of people can have the Bible. REALLY! SHE'S 5 1/2 PEOPLE, 5 1/2!

prayer-the next 7 days

So God has been teaching a lot about praying this year. I've seen God work through prayer but haven't always been disciplined enough to be considered a "prayer warrior". I've been led to do some interesting things over the years. I was praying for a friend who was ill, so I prayed for her everytime I saw a CVS {there were 3} from work to home. It was an amazing time. This year God has urged me to write in a journal. Its been great time spending time with God. I've never been one to pray specific scripture to specific situations. God is working with me he has stuck me in the Psalms for the past 6 months. He has given me specific scripture for a friend who is battling cancer. He has given me scripture to read over the phone (and pray) with/to my husband who's stressing out over some things. It has been amazing time for me to listen to God' word. Recently we've been studying 2 Kings at CBS and we read about King Hezekiah (19:14.) The king got a letter...
I have been linking up recently to quite a few blogs. Not that I am jumping on the blog band wagon, but I feel that this one is important. Being thankful for the things in your life. http://www.aholyexperience.com/ 1. coffee and conversation with a longtime friend 2. fresh flowers 3. date night with the husband 4. grandparents and the special time spent with my kiddos 5. God's ancient yet relevant word 6. God speaking to me through His word 7. Obedience to the Holy Spirit 8. A handwritten note 9. Rich discussion at CBS 10.Spring weather 11. Busted

As I said a few posts ago I am not the Martha Stewart of housecleaning. Its just so hard for me with the babies running around causing chaos and such...{excuses excuses}. Listen, laundry I get washed weekly. I kinda like having a completely empty laundry basket even if its just for a few hours. My hubs does a lot of the house cleaning {heart him}. Ramble much.... Today I was sweeping the kitchen floor and getting ready to mop. It was actually getting quite disgusting. Little man likes to dump his plate...grrrrrrr. So there were several spots where the plate ring of food could be seen as the dirt began to stick to it....yuck. I had told #1 that I had a surprise for her this weekend, but I wasn't going to tell. heh heh. As I was getting ready to do the mopping, she pipes up "I know what the surprise is this weekend, we are getting company." WHAT???!!! ahem...what makes you say that? "Well you only mop when we are getting company." B.U.S.T.E.D! Yes we are getting...

Little man

Little man is just a few months shy of his 2nd birthday and we are starting to see signs of the terrible two's {which seems like I have been in for way to long now people}. He didn't like the way I was taking his picture the other day so he had a meltdown. YEP! So I documented it for the sake of documenting it. {I didn't get a good picture, but he had feet and hands going every which way....}

Play dough

Usually this stuff is an outdoor toy. But do to our sickies last week and the cold weather I broke my rule. We needed a change of pace and STAT. I got out the "cake" baking set and let the kids have all the color mixing, cake baking fun. Little man chased me around with a "snake" we made. Pooh bear just loves to "bake" and "make" lots of treats. They sat quietly, QUIETLY, I said people for 30 minutes. In toddler years that's like 3 hours. They didn't fight or argue or eat the play dough. It was lots of fun.

Happy PI day!

Yes, today for all you math nerds...err....enthusiasts its PI day. Ya know 3.14 (really I just explained it for all my non-math friends). Well to celebrate my hubs and his math minor-ness the girls and I made a pumpkin pie. And for those of you who don't know, I cook down very large pumpkins in the fall and freeze the goop so we can have my hubby's favorite all year long. On the Susie Homemaker scale of Pigpen to Martha Stewart I range somewhere in the middle, but when it comes to pies and baked goods I give good ol' Martha a run for her money. I am also teaching this wonderful skill to my girls. #1 made and rolled out the crust and Pooh Bear dumped and stirred the pie goop. Yes its all from scratch! See I told you I gave MS a run for her $$. Enjoy your pi day!

Meal plan

Last week was awful...thea babies and I were sick. Coughing, runny noses, fevers (off and on). So needless to say they were lucky to eat...I don't think I cooked anything for the hubs until Thurs. YIKES! So this week will be much better, I promise! Saturday: grilled fish , veg, fruit.....going to grab something before church for dinner Sunday: Lasagna and salad....grilled chicken, veg and fruit Monday BBQ ribs, potato, fruit Tuesday Meatloaf cups, corn cassarole, fruit Wednesday Chicken noodle soup (crock pot version) and fruit {its dance day so its gotta be quick} Thursday Turkey burgers/fries/fruit Friday Chicken macaroni and cheese casserole, broccoli

So its been awhile...

10 on 10

So I've seen some friends do this 10 on 10. Basically its 10 pictures on the 10th that give a snapshot into your day. Guess what time the mama gets up? Little man the earliest of my early risers today... 6:40 Heading to the bus stop and guess what we needed for a second day in a row! Its Thursday so we head to CBS. Studying 1 &2 Kings this year. Lunch for #1 when she gets off the bus! "PB &J everyday" During his lack of nap time, little man posed in front of the giant load of laundry I was working on. Girls are just jamming to their own beat! Tonight's vegetable {for mommy and daddy} oven roasted bacon wrapped aspargus!!!!!!!!!!! Dessert tonight a few Wilbur buds from Litiz PA. Sweet heaven {ok so I didn't take this pic...I couldn't get the right one..just couldn't capture the yumminess} Maybe tonight I finally make a decision on where we are going to stay for vacation?? So that's my day in a nutshell! http://rebekahgough.b...
Outside my window...sunshine and greenish grass! I am thinking....I need to fold 5 baskets of laundry I am praying for...a college friend {mother of 3} with cancer. How can I be an amazing support even though I don't live very close? Psalm 105:4 "Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always." I am thankful for...my family and babies who take 3 hour naps In the kitchen....fish sticks~I know it wasn't on my meal plan but nothing is planning out this week I am wearing...pink, my new favorite color I am going...to be away from my kids for an evening and a day....some adult convo is very exciting to me! I am hoping...that my friend knows how much she is loved and that God can give me the words when I have no words. Plans for the rest of the week...cbs, tap dance class, dinner with friends A verse to ponder...Jeremiah 29:13 "You will seek and find me when you seek me with all of your heart." I love that this one comes after the plans that God has for me...
