Living Life One Cheerio at a Time

We had a few snow days this week and this mom needed to come up with something quick! VALENTINES DAY BOXES!! The oldest and I scoured Pinterest for some designs for our boxes. If you know #1 she likes her themes/monochromatic/type a order in life so she thought since her cards were owls and she had an owl shirt {that she could wear on her party day}then her box should be an owl. All would be right on the world! Child 2 is a little more go with the flow so she was cool with sling hers an owl. But she made it her own...a little like her personality. Of course #1 hoards shoe boxes for this project so we had plenty of sizes to choose from.  A few paper bags from Kroger's and some scrounging  in my scrapping paper and we had our BEST boxes to date!

As promised from my FB status this morning, this morning why my heart was warmed even though my toes are frozen. My children are kept in a tight bubble. And I am okay with that. And right now so are they, because they don't know any different. I know that won't last forever. Their gonna want to stretch their wings and do what their friends are doing. Listen to what their friends are listening to. Watch what their friends are watching. But I pray that the time they spent in the safe bubble we've created will have great impact on those choices. This morning my oldest told me about a song she heard the 5th grade choir sing the other day at school. Since they sang it at school she thought that it was appropriate. She liked it but couldn't remember all the words. She asked if I would look up the words for her to see if it was something she could listen to and if it was could she listen to it on you tube. I thought this was amazingly wise for an 8 yr old. I looked it up...

The hubs and I are planning a Disney trip for the kids. We are super excited. I thought it would be nice to have a few Disney themed outfits for our first trip. I found the kids some Mickey shirts for $4.00 on clearance at Meijer. STEAL! I then scoured the internet for some crafty ideas and that's when I found  the  freezer paper stencil idea. Now you can google freezer paper stencil and get A LOT of tutorials/videos/blogs. Here's what I did just in case you don't feel like weeding through the plethora of tutorials. I went braved took my own life into my hands and went to Wal-mart to find some CHEAP t-shirts. I got everyone a $3 shirt. I found black metallic fabric paint (Tulip brand),some sponge brushes, and freezer paper. I decided on the design I wanted and went with the simple Mickey silhouette and printed it from my computer. I decided on some different sizes for all the kids. The websites suggested using exacto knives but that would not probably be a safe ...

Today's challenge is obsession. This is my food obsession. I can't get enough. I eat it with this amazing pita crackers from Costco. I go through a tub of hummus a week. My hubs doesn't care for Mediterranean food so this is as close as I get most days. Its often my lunch: veggies, pita chips, PURE YUMMUS!

After dark is today's challenge Its not pretty people. Not pretty at all!

Today's photo challenge is Clouds. even a rainbow in the clouds I love clouds. I pulled these from my files. BUT these are today's snowy clouds.... Guess we don't have clouds in Ohio in January. Just blankets of snow!

What you wore is today's photo challenge.  This is my Christmas gift from my husband. Okay, I picked it out but it was his credit card. Its my new favorite scarf. And if you know me scarves and vests are my mom uniform of the fall/spring/winter.

Today's challenge is a self portrait. I had lots of witty banter written out in my head about the fact that my self portrait is done with each of my kids, but I think I will leave this alone.
