The day my FB feed exploded

So one day I happened to catch on my Facebook feed minutes after it was posted that Jen Hatmaker, author of interrupted and seven, was looking for some people to apply to read her newest book before it was released and write the endorsements for the book. I thought why not.  So I filled out the simple application and that was that.

Then on Tuesday I received the coolest email, EVER!

Knock, knock. Who's there? YOU, because YOU are on my Launch Team for 'For the Love'!! Yeah baby!! We only had room for 10% of all applicants (what the??), and we think you got the stuff. THANK YOU for your amazing enthusiasm; I couldn't possibly love you more if I tried with all my might. You are leading well and using your influence like a boss. We all think you are amazing. We are going to get this thing off the ground together! Let me tell you, launching a book is really fun. And some of you are going to end up on the inside cover, so THAT. I said on January 1st this year that one goal was to spend less time pleasing "Not My People" ... well let's be clear: YOU ARE MY PEOPLE. I love you so. I really do. I am loyally yours forever. Let's do this thing.

My marketing team will now tell you all the fun details.

- Jen

She and her team took only 500 out of 5000.  YAY!  I am so excited to be reading this book. I have a few weeks to devour the contents before I need to write my endorsement.  You can pre order a copy here from Amazon Or Barnes and Noble. And when the time comes we can start letting you in on all the awesomeness. August can't get here fast enough!

I am now on a FB group with 500  people from all over. My feed is on over drive. So much to talk about regarding the book. The coolest thing is these 497 gals and 3 guys are adding prayer requests and planning parties.  It's been fun and I am excited to see this adventure unfold.

I'll leave you with one quote:

"Your calling is today. You can live a life worthy right now. No future calling is more important than your current station. "

Good stuff people. Serve Jesus and the people around you right where you are. Whether it's a stay at home mom, a teacher or flipping burgers at McDonalds. God  can use you. Don't wait until your all clean and shiny. Go serve God & love people right now!

The book is chocked full of these juicy morsels. I can't wait to share more with you!

A JOURNEY OF THE HEART

"No NO No NO NO No!" That was a recent entry into my journal. I was asked to do something that I without a shadow of a doubt knew it was God asking me to do it. AND I DIDN'T WANT TO! I literally followed it with 2 pages of ME telling God why I didn't want to do it and why I couldn't do it. Yes 2 pages.  Wow! I strapped on my toddler attitude and went to town. *Flashback to 1 month ago* Child #1's Kindergarten teacher, Kara,  also  attends the church we attend and we occasionally see each other at the same service. Well, one particular evening we got to talking and she asked me to join our church's version of VBS. We go to the west side {off campus} of town to the Somalian population and do a day time VBS and lunch for these kids for an entire week. Cool part, my own kids can come and be apart of the "missions trip."  What an invaluable a lesson to my kids to show love to others! Kara is heading crafts and wanted me to craft it up with her. ...

serving with a grateful heart

1 Peter 4:10 "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." This year my little gang of cheerios and I have been working on being intentional about serving. To be honest for a long time the excuses of having to many littles was beginning to wear thin. Now I have been looking for opportunities that my littles could easily accomplish. Yesterday, we attended a Lenten service at our church. It was a beautiful Prayer walk. We walked through stations, preparing our hearts for this season of Lent. It was a perfect activity for our family to do together. In the Lenten study package was The Names of God Bible reading challenge . I am really thrilled to focus in on the Names of God for this season. Preparing my heart for the Easter season. So today, the sanctuary needed cleaned. All the stations needed put back in the closets and offices that they were borrowed from. Little ...
