Yes, Bert turned 40 last week. Ernie is still younger. Did you know that? Not really but our dear friend turned 40. A number of years ago we started calling he and my husband Bert and Ernie. Maybe because they have the same name, or maybe because of the hair ...umm....never the less it helps us distinguish the two men.
These friends are our vacation partners in crime. We've gone on vacations as couples and as families. You see their youngest is just a few months older than our oldest daughter. THE GIRLS ARE BEST FRIENDS. Which works out perfectly for us. Its been 13 years of friendship. A beautiful 13 years. They've seen us through our engagement, marriage, a miscarriage, a move, and 4 babies. We've seen them through 3 kids, bed rest, an adoption, following God's path when it doesn't seem so easy and now a move.
Bert and his wife had a party at a local restaurant and they invited 3 other couples. Couples that have meant so much to their lives. Couples who have gone the distance and encouraged them along the way in different ways.
What a beautiful reminder about who your friends are and what they mean to you. Thank you!
